hi doc, i m a renal transplant recipitent and my transplant was done 7 years ago. for the past few days i m experiencing dull pain or i can say pain like feeling on the right side of abdomen. so i tested for sgpt and sgot level yesterday which were 160 and 140 respectively. so wat shud i do
Pain over right side of abdomen especially if it is dull kind, could be related to some internal organ like your are recipient of renal transplant.
But after clinical examination of abdomen and ultrasound of abdomen,I will be able to say some exactly.
SGPT and SGOT are liver function tests which have 160 and 140 values respectively and they are mildly elevated but have not much clinical significance,so no need to worried about.
Meanwhile, you should take symptomatic treatment like pain killers (diclofenac 100 mg) after consulting your doctor since you have one kidney now. Also, take Udilive 600 mg three times daily which is actually a bile acid and help to replenish liver enzymes.
See your doctor or operating surgeon after ultrasound report.
