Suggest Remedy For Pain And Swelling In Calf Of Leg

43 year old male with active Crohns presents with swollen, hot, red and inflamed right calf. It s quite painful to walk. More so to stand on after laying down. The pain and redness had moved to the top of my foot, and to the right side of my knee. A few days pass and the swelling is localized just to the calf. Top of the foot and knee area are no longer involved. The trouble appeared just after a 30 min workout on a treadmill walking at a medium pace for 30 min. So far, the pain and swelling has not abated in 7 days. Thank you for your help

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

There is likely to be 2 possibilities, either a thrombo-embolic phenomenon or a cellulitis. Both are to be taken on a serious note so please go to the nearby ER department of hospital to get properly assessed and investigated.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
