Suggest Remedy For Pain Around The Ribcage

Hello, my 14 year old son seems to have a bit of the right side of his ribcage poking out, this is on the tummy side of the ribcage, not the waist side. He plays a lot of football with a team and I am just wondering is it an injury of some kind. There is no pain with it?
