Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i have severe pain while having bowel movement in the morning and its painful with little bleeding. I have hemorroids and i try to incorporate veggies and drink a lot of water but its very painful when i have to go to the bathroom like a sharp shooting pain only for the first few seconds. I dread going to the bathroom. Any suggestions
Sorry to hear about the problems your facing. Painful defecation with bleeding is classic for anal fissure and unlikely to be hemorrhoids as hemorrhoids are usually painless.
If your problem is acute, like from less than 3 months then I would suggest to use ispaghul husk and vegetables, avoid constipation. You may also use topical creams like nitrates and lignocaine gel for pain relief. However, if the problem is from long time or not responding to the treatment above, then you need to see a surgeon for better management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammad Zahir Shah,
