Hello,

Pain in the calf radiating to the buttocks is commonly caused by muscle knots, calf strain, etc. Massages and gentle exercises under a physical therapist can help. You can use a roller for a deep massage and work on it, to ease out pain. Flex your knee and find the tender spot by palpating it, massage to help relax the pain and apply pain relieving ointment.

This exercise will reduce the muscle knot slowly. Don't strain, allow your body to relax. Muscle knots generally go away by themselves. You can take muscle relaxants like Baclofen, one sos for relief. In case of muscle tear, do not do stretch exercises do not apply hot compression, it may delay healing. Get cold compression done to relax. Take acetaminophen or naproxen for relieve.

Other conditions that may cause similar conditions are benign tumor, deep vein thrombosis, cysts, etc. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP if discomfort persists. Get blood & imaging tests done to detect any tumor or major injury. You will be treated accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
