Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have recently had new and expensive orthodics made, but have not gotten any relief from ongoing pain in second metatarsal of my foot (next to big toe). My pain is mostly in the pad under the toe, with lesser toe pain as well. Trying to avoid surgery. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Looking at spacers does not seem like they would help as the pain is not between the toes. thanks, YYYY@YYYY
HI Welcome to healhcaremagic. After going through your query I concluded that you may be having Morton's metatarsalgia. It's treatment is surgical. But you don't want to do surgery. So it's nonsurgical treatment soft shoes, soft pads and analgesic such as ibuprofen. Mecobalamin is helpful. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it. I do hope that you have found something helpful. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries. Wishing you good health. Take care.
