my boyfriend gets a agonsing pain that he describes like hook inside his anus being pulled up! its happens infrequently and often at night waking him up. he goes to the toilet and the bowel movement relieves it but doesnt remove the pain. it eventually eases!
Hi. Read the history and understood the problem your boyfriend has. This type of pain is seen in young patients having a few problems like: Proctalgia, meaning pain in the rectum. This is seen when the patient has inflammation. Proctocolitis Occasional cases of Prostatitis. The bowel movement s reliving the pain albeit incompletely. I would suggest the following in such a patient: Opinion and colonoscopy and biopsy by a Gastroenterology. Per-rectal examination, ultrasonography of the prostate and whole abdomen. Stool, urine and blood tests. The treatment will depend upon the findings of the Specialist and may be needed for a long time.
