Suggest Remedy For Painful Knot On Knee After Injury

I hit my knee about 4 days ago on a door frame. It did not bruise or swell much but caused a large hard knot on the bone. It has not gotten any smaller since then and the pain is getting worse. I am concerned and wanted to know if I should go have it ex-rayed and looked at.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to the injury. I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the inflammation. I also suggest using cold compresses for local application.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
