Suggest Remedy For Painful, Raw Throat With No Help From Dexamethsone, Lidocaine And Oxcodone

my sons throat is very raw & he cant eat, we went to the dr, & dr said he didnt have strept & prescribe dexamethsone, Lidocaine & Oxcodone, that was on wednesday today is saturday & he is still having a very hard time swallowing cant eat, he says he feels like he throat skin is peeled back, & he doesnt like the oxycodone, just makes him sleep, what can we do to speed the recovery of his throat skin, he says he is very hungrey?

I can understand your worry for your son this could be allergic inflammatory condition of throat, if I would be his doctor then I would treat him with the following medicine,
1) Ibuprofen
2) Acetaminophen
3) cetirizine
(You have not mentioned the age of your son, so the dose has to be adjusted according to age and weight )
