I ve been seeing a urologist since April 09 for painful, foamy urine. My urinanalysis and shows no protein in my urine, although from time to time trace white blood cells are found. All urine cultures have been negative. My kidney function is normal. Cystoscopy showed no anatomical abnormalities. I have not been given a 24hr urine test. Although my kidney function is normal, I am concerned because I feel that my urine looks more concentrated/yellow than it used to. I stay hydrated, drinking plenty of water. My urologist is more concerned about prostate health, although I am young (24) and have never been sexually active. He has tried Ciprofloxacin and Doxycycline in case of a prostatitis. I also have a sticky mouth that begun with the dysuria symptoms, although this may be due to my medication for anxiety (Lexapro). Anyone have any ideas what could be going on? Should I consult with a nephrologist?
Your change in color of urine is related to Lexapro and nothing further has to be done for foamy urine apart from maintaining hydration with plenty of liquids.
