Suggest Remedy For Problem In Bowel Movement

Dr. Grief, I had diverticulosis to the point where there was blood (dark) in my stool..after an endoscopy and colonoscopy I am home recuperating… after 6 days I have started back with the b ms… they seem to be frequent,perhaps 3 to 5 a day…. blood and hemoglobin is back to normal and I am taking iron… my question is: should I expect this loose type of diarrhea…. it has been going on for several days

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted your history of diverticulosis which when inflamed are called diverticulitis. This can give all varied symptoms of pain in abdomen , bloating and so on depending upon severity of the disease.
Loose stools can be due to irritation of the bowel due to infection and so on.
O would advise you the following:
Stool tests for3 day.
Thyroid function test, sugar, liver function, CT scan and Colonoscopy to see the cause and get treated accordingly.
