Hi there,

The increased bowel movement are likely due to the increased fiber in your diet. It may be that the loads of water are also causing your bowel movements to be a bit more watery.

In terms of weight loss, I'd give it a month of consistent diet and exercise before you start to see a difference. And for exercise, you really should be making sure you exercise at least 30 minutes a day. I'd also keep an eye your calories. Not all salads are healthy, and it may be that you're actually consuming more calories that are causing you to gain weight on your new diet. I've had many patients be perplexed about why they aren't losing weight and then when they check calories on their food items they find out that their salad dressing has as many calories as a cheeseburger!

In summary - I think the change in your bowel movements is fine, I wouldn't worry too much. Start keeping track of your calories, and continue to eat cleanly and exercise for at least 30 minutes a day. Give it about a month and I think you'll see results.

I hope I have answered your questions. Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions or if you feel I haven't addressed your question adequately.
