my husband has liver problems, and the last couple of days he hasn t been able to control bowl movments his bowl is watery, and dark black, he wont let me call 911, or take him it er, what should I do. I have had to clean him he doesnt understand what is going on
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history about your husband needing you to clean him and he does not understand what is going on in addition to passing of watery , black motions. This is a serious matter.He is bleeding somewhere in the intestinal tract and also may have gone into toxemia and electrolyte imbalance. He you to rush him to the ER, admit him. He needs to be urgently resuscitated to correct the electrolyte and fluid imbalance, may also need blood transfusion. He will also need further valuation and investigations: Tests of blood, urine and stool to decide the extent of the problems. Upper GI and lower GI Endoscopies. Capsule endoscopy if need be. Appropriate treatment. Rush him to the ER before he deteriorate further.
