Suggest Remedy For Reflux Problems Like Stomach Acid
Dear Doctor,
I'm 52 years old .My health in general is good .the only long last proplem is stomach acid (gastro-oesophageal reflux) .I have this proplem for more than 20 years .I've used Zentac , Nexium and many other treatments, ended with Pariet 20mg for more than 4 years till now. I'm starting to be worried if it's ok to continue taken it or not ?I tried to stop for a period of time but I couldn’t because immediately I get the stomach acid again. So could I have any suggestion for my case ? And I'll be very grateful if you inform me with any new treatment or procedure for my case.

Hello,
The basic management of the same depends upon the underlying cause. Aim should be at permanent solution as if hiatus hernia is the cause it should be repaired, h. pylori is the culprit should be eradicated or likewise.
Though PPI can be consumed for long duration, till how much time you will continue without cure of the condition?
