Suggest Remedy For Sciatic Nerve Pain

What kind of relief is there for pain in the sciatic nerve? I have constant pain in what I believe to be the sciatic nerve. I have been diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy. The pain has been constant for over 8 months. I currently take Lyrica for the neuropathy, but it does not help the sciatica. In addition my afflicted leg constantly urges it to pop it from the hip. The pain keeps me from sleeping. I often have to get out of bed, stretch my leg, and I wind up falling asleep on the floor.

Hi,

I would explain that your symptoms could be related to schiatica (although not typical) or to arthritis of the hip joint. That is why, I would recommend performing a lumbar spine CT scan and a hip X ray study. I would recommend increasing the dose of pregabaline and avoiding prolonged standing or sitting position.

Hope to have been helpful. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Kind regards,
Dr. Aida
