Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Dear patient you are having L45 disc prolapse with significant canal stenosis.normal spinal canal diameter is 12 to 14 mm and yours as per mri report is 6 mm so suggest significant canal narrowing with resultant nerve compression and leg pains.you definitely require surgery with l45 discectomy. There are many ways of discectomy and one of them is endoscopic in which with minimal incisions and scarring and with hemi laminectomy your disc can be excised. You should visit endoscopic surgeon and he will definitely guide you properly. Onother way is conventional method as advised by your surgeon but now a days it is not preferred. All the best.
