Suggest Remedy For Severe Dizziness And Fatigue After Xanax Intake

My doctor prescribed xanax for the first time. I took a 2mg pill in the am and I am feeling miserable.......light headed, dizzy, drugged, sluggish, unable to drive and do normal daily activities. I am concerned. I had taken lorazepam with little to no side effects. Any suggestions, please?

Hi, I have gone through your questions and I understand your concerns. The symptoms you mentioned are typical side effects of Xanax (Alprazolam) which belongs to the same class of medications as Lorazepam. Due to their side effects, they are typically started at the minimum dose and gradually increased as needed. These side effects are usually dose-related.

In your case, given that the medication interferes with your daily activities is really a call for concern. You may want to discuss it with your Doctor who may reduce the dose for a start and observe you. In the meantime, avoid any activity requiring the highest level of alertness like driving or operating an machine.
