I was swimming in a river and I did a somersault. Right away water shot in my ear creating a pain. It didn t feel like any water was caught in there and it still doesn t. However whenever I pop my ears, I yawn, cough, or create any sort of pressure in my ear, a sharp pain is felt. What could this be.

Hi
Welcome to Health care magic

I went through the history you have provided here.
It seems from the history that you are having sharp pain in the ear following swimming. This indicates probable infection of the ear or swelling of the wax and obstruction of the ear.
This requires examination bu ENT doctor to find out the underlying cause and treatment accordingly.

Do consult your ENT doctor for examination to find out the underlying cause and treatment accordingly.

Hope this is helpful to you.
