Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 10 yr old son is complaining of mid sternum chest pain...started after we got a trampoline. He is a very athletic soccer player who has never experienced this before. The pain was worse when actually jumping up and down...and even radiated to the back. No shortness of breath, etc. Today he came home from school hurting while not jumping up and down. He described it as it feels like a little ball moving around inside hurting . My immediate thought as a previous pediatric hem/onc nurse was mediastinal mass! I am going to take him for xray shortly. Any ideas?
it's most likely from the description is a musculoskeletal pain , it's better to day the XRAY to look for fractured rip the mediastinal mass is very less likely to cause this is hope he becomes better soon
