Suggest Remedy For Stomach Ailments

i was on weight watchers since lst april 2010, i lost 13 lbs and i don't know what happened, but in nov of 2010 i gained 20 lbs by the end of dec. the bloating is centered in my stomach ,under my bra line to my belly button. i look pregnant. my lower back hurts also. i went to a gyno and she did a pelvic and said she did not feel any tumors (as i was worried about ovarian cancer) i also had servere diarrhea at least 10 times a day for 3 months. i am 53 and went through menopause naturally at 35. i am 5'3" and was at 137 and now at 157. i went to my pcp and he felt my stomach and said there was no acites..sp. he just said to go to 20 points on my weight watchers instead of 18. he said my body was not getting enough calories with 18 points and it was now holding on to weight. i also have horrible belching after i come home and eat anything , it is instant burping and they are very forceful and loud and i can't stop them from coming out they are that forceful.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi

Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood the concerns.
Frequency of motions to the tune of 10 per day, bloating, pain in upper abdomen are all indicative of entero-colitis as the most probable cause of all your symptoms. The cause can be specific or can be due to IBS that is irritable bowel syndrome. I would thus advise you the following get the blood tests of thyroid, liver and pancreas functions.Tests of stool for 3 consecutive days.CT scan of abdomen and colonoscopy. All these tests along with an opinion of a Gastroenterologist will give a proper diagnosis and give a plan of proper management. If all the investigations are normal then this may most probable taken due to IBS that is irritable bowel syndrome and treated accordingly. Avoid stress, anxiety and any other factors that instigate the problems or enhance these. Also watch for the foods and beverages that cause problems and stop all these forever.

Take Care!
