Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been having stomach pains after I eat. I only eat one meal a day sometime between 12-6pm. I also do not pass stools as often as I use to and usually constipated and have severe back pain in the evenings. Beside changing my eating habits any suggestions
Dear- Thanks for using our service. First step is what you said, evaluate your eating habits and change them to a healthy one. You need to eat more frequent and small amount, because when you eat only one time a day,the overload makes the stomach to expand too much and create pain. It is advisable to eat 6 times a day small portions , to keep the intestinal movements in sequence and avoid stomach pain. Constipation is due to the same situation, the intestine don't move regularly because they don't get the food all the time. Increase fiber and drink more water. The back pain can be secondary to gas from empty stomach just pressure from the full intestines. I hope that my advise has been helpful Dr.Sara
