Suggest Remedy For Sudden Weight Gain And Abdominal Discomfort

Hello I am an 18 year old female. I, in the past day and a half have noticed blood in my stool. A lot of it, in fact, it is completely red. I also noticed this about 2-3 weeks ago but it only lasted a couple days. This time I am feeling a lot of abdominal discomfort. I went to the doctor and we did bloodwork. All came back fine. The pain I feel in my stomach I describe as a giant water ballon floating around and putting pressure on everything. I feel extremely bloated and have gained 6.5 pounds in 2 days. I have not eaten much at all. I am normally pretty thin. 1.5 of those pounds have been attained in the past 6 hours and 4 of those hours I was teaching dance classes so I was very active. I am concerned that I have some kind of intestinal problem. Please respond with your thoughts on what is wrong and what to do about the discomfort and unusual weight gain. The sooner the better because I have a hard time sleeping and I start college tomorrow.

Hi,
i have gone through your query and i understand your concern.

From the history in your question red colour blood in your stool is suggestive of lower gastro intestinal tract bleeding may be hemorrhoids, and bloated abdomen with pain might be because of partial or complete intestinal obstruction.

I will suggest you to fix an appointment with your local physician and get a ultrasound of your abdomen.
after report and physical examination plan of treatment can be decided.

get well soon.

Take care.

Thanks & Regards
Dr. Shiv
