Suggest Remedy For Swelling And Pain In Knees

Hi my name is janie mathis i have been having trouble with my knees forvover a year now it started in my right knee but now its both knees it is very painful to walk they are swollen they feel like sometimes they are on fire they are burning so bad when I bend over you can feel my right knee always and sometime my left just crackling and the best way I can explain it is its like an accordian effect I have not gone to a doctor for I have no ins thank you for your time

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have swelling and pain in knees. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like gout , arthritis , injury , ligament tear or meniscus injury. I would sugggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan , MRI along with blood and urine test . Doctor may prescribe methotrexate , allopurinol , anti inflammatory , muscle relaxant and recommend physical therapy . In severe damage doctor may recommned surgery . For now apply warm compresses , apply over the counter anti inflammatory ointment , take proper rest and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain .
