Suggest Remedy For Swelling & Bruises In Foot

My son (5 years old) was pushed off the top of the couch monday night, he walks with his left foot inward like pigeon toed. We went to the dr and he was just kind of like whatever. My sons bottom of foot is a little puffy and bruised and the top from big toe down is bruised and puffy...at night though its really swollen to where he doesnt have much of a arch. Should I take him back in to get an xray done?
