Suggest Remedy For Swelling In Knee

Last night I knelt on the floor and got a rather large sewing needle stuck in the side of the knee. We managed to pull it out. There was no bleeding just a small hole from the puncture. I put Neosporin on it. It is rather sore today and tender to the touch. Is there anything else I should be doing? Should I get a tetnus shot?

Hi,

The swelling is normal phenomenon after such injury. Take TT shot if you have not taken in last five years. Also take antibiotic for five days. If pain is more also take a pain killer.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Phanindra Dulipala, Diabetologist
