Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a small area of my forehead, on the left side, between eyebrow and hairline, that is very tender to the touch. I did not hit my head, and there has never been any visible bruising. It s been over a week and it s not getting any better, if anything it s even more tender. It s a very small area, doesn t seem to be any larger than the tip of my index finger. There is no lump or bump. Everything looks and feels normal except for the tenderness. Thank you for any insight.
Most commonly a localised area of tenderness without trauma suggests a skin infection like boil or folliculitis. But since there is no swelling at all, I am not sure what this is. If there is no overlying discolouration or edema, just try taking analgesics like Ibuprofen 2-3 times a day for 3 days to see the response. If this is persistent, we can evaluate further.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
