Here first thing I would like to know, do you have got some relief in this 2 week after getting the treatment for your ankle sprain? If yes then how much ? I mean up to what percentage the pain is less? If you say gradually it is reducing then I suggest just follow what ever you are doing and it will be fine in some more days.
But if there is no relief from treatment what you are taking and still the pain is continue then you need to take secondary opinion. Here I can not suggest much since I have not seen your ankle x- ray. So i am giving you general advice.
When I have patient with ankle sprain i advice to use crep bandage regularly to avoid extra movement at ankle joint and to have little stability at ankle level. It also helps to prevent swelling at ankle and feet level. Next I will also give him ultrasound treatment for giving some more healing effect on his soft tissue. At home I will suggest to use hot and cold pack alternatively to have some more relaxing effect. And with this it should be fine in 7-10 days. Yes I will also suggest him not to walk or stand for long time as well Dont do any thing which pains.
Here one most important thing i will see before starting treatment is there is no hairline crack at ankle bone level. It will be more visible in digital x-ray. And if its there means no treatment there will be plaster for 10-15 days minimum based on the bone hair line crack.
I am sure all above thing must be useful for you.
Take care.
