Hi , I am having mild Anemia . I have been asked to take Sangobian tablets daily twice morning and night . My HB level gone to 12 from 10 but all my Ferratin levels shows low levels . I sm 40yrs old female . I am taking calcium tablets also . Sometimes I night time I sm not able to sleep because of pain in legs as well back side of thighs. Pls let me know what to do to increase my ferratin levels . Thank u
hello mam, ferritin levels suggest the levels of stored iron in your body. From what you said i assume you have diagnosed as iron deficiency anemia. As your HB level is now 12 and you are also taking the required medications, i would suggest to continue the same as Hb levels are improved. As far as you ferritin levels, it will increase with time. Its just like body starts storing iron once required amount of iron is used up to produce hemoglobin. so your ferritin levels will come up with time with regular medications.
First identifying where there is loss of blood. Often menstrual cycle. Then, iron supplements. Ferritin is the storage form of iron. If all the iron is going into stopping the anemia, then it will eventually get better AND takes time and will only rise after the anemia is fixed. In this context rising blood count and not rising ferritin can be a sign that things are working great
