Suggest Remedy To Reduce Pain While On Benicar

I have been taking Benicar 40mg for 1 year and I have been aching a lot. I stopped taking it for a week and pan wen away, but BP went up. I started back on the Benicar and pain and aches come back. Could I safely cut pill in half and see how it works?

Dear friend, Benicar 40 contains Olmesartan- a good drug for BP belonging to Angiotensin Receptor Blocker family.I have never seen or read in any standard text book of internal medicine or cardiology that it causes aching pain.But you are experiencing it and as per your observation when you are decreasing the dose pain is gone.Don't decrease the dose as it may harm you increasing the BP.You can try Tab.Telmisartan 40mg (eg. Telma/Telista/Telsar etc) instead of your Benicar 40mg.Give me feedback please.Good luck.
