Suggest Remedy To Relieve Cold And Mucus In Children
Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...my 16 month old daughter has a bad cold for the past few days and so she can t sleep or eat due to all the mucous. I have been up with her all night and day because she only sleeps five minutes then she is up coughing gagging and puking on the mucous. She won t let me put saline drops spray etc I have used hot showers for steam.
Having cough, mucus, gagging and puking in a 16-month-old daughter is very troublesome. - For instilling saline spray your husband has to hold the head as this is very difficulty in small babies - Try oral medications as per the advise of your Paediatrician - Try nebilization - Clean the nose with cotton clothe wick
You can also try the do suction with a special canula which can be operated by you and has a small container available at the maternity homes pharmacy store, this is non-traumatic and easy to do if you learn. Suction of mucus in nose will clear the nasal airway and make her comfortable and sleep nicely. Rest of the medications strictly as advised by a pediatrician. No self-medication in children as this is weight specific and age specific too.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
