Suggest Remedy To Relieve Knee Pain During And After Dancing

I m a 16 year old hip hop dancer and for about a year my knee hurts after and during dance like a burning and sharp pain. I went to an orthepedic surgeon who did and MRI and he said it was normal and I went to a rheumatologist who found nothing. I also did physio which didn t help. I dance with a knee brace because they didn t know what else to do for me and now my knee sometimes pops out and back in on it s own and it feels like it twists sometimes. What do I do next?

Hi,

You need to check it out with another orthopaedic surgeon ASAP. There are chances you're experiencing a patellofemoral dislocation - relocation event. These situations must not be taken lightly, because you could end up with cartilage damage in the long run. Look for a second opinion for your knee!

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Gonzalo Escobar, Orthopedic Surgeon
