Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello, Welcome to Health Care Magic

I can understand your concern. Suboxone consists of Buprenorphine and Naloxone and the drug is used in opioid deaddiction programs. Buprenorphine is a partial agonist of opioid and this is the reason you are feeling good while on this drug. The drug itself is having dependence potential. In most cases once patient becomes stabilised on Suboxone then the drug doses are reduced progressively over 6-12 months.

You have been using the drug for 2 years now and in my opinion the drug should be discontinued now. Try to reduce the doses by about 20% every two weeks and then stop completely at about 6-10 weeks. Dose reduction in this manner will prevent withdrawal symptoms. Please discuss with your doctor before making any change in prescription.

Thanks, Take care.
