Suggest Side Effects Of Aztor 40

After PTCA in Nov, 13, I have been taking Aztor 40, Prasita 10 mg and Ecosprin 150 one tab each per day, as per doctor s advice. My BP is normal all along, not a diabetes at all, but was an ex-smoker. Present body weight is 78 Kgs., 5 6 and I am 52 years old. Weight reduced from 84 kgs after PTCA. SGPT, SGOT are normal. It is done half yearly. I understood that Ecosprin and Prasita perhaps to be taken life long to keep the blood thin. My question is how long I am to take Aztor 40 and what is its side effect? Hello
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.
Aztor 40 contains Atorvastatin which is lipid lowering drug.
It has minor side effects like muscle pain, nausea, constipation, headache, dizziness weakness, abdominal discomfort, sleep problems etc.
Sometimes liver enzymes become elevated, so if you have liver problem than inform your doctor and if you are drinking alcohol and smoker, immediately stop both.
It should be taken till the lipid are at normal level and it should be continue till your doctor says to take it.
You should also modify your lifestyle along with.
Do regular 1 hour brisk walking.
Avoid spicy and oily diet and also fast food.
Take green veg more and also take fresh fruits instead of fruit juices.
