Suggest Suitable Therapy For Dementia

My dad is 86 and has become extremely incontenent. He lives on his own but I think he should be in a long term care facility. He also suffers from dementia. Often the floor is covered in his feces as well as him. We try and clean him up best we can and clean up the floor. Last time he was evaluated the people doing the evaluation were happy we were there to help but we've had enough .... its too much ... what can we do?

Hi,
Thanks for asking.
Based on your clinical history and query, my opinion is as follows:
1. Family support is essential.
2. Assisted facility can be used and he can be given trained help.
3. Medications can be given and even mild support is helpful

Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
