HIV status till  3-4 weeks ( no 
need to wait for 6 months , as  HIV 
antibodies can be detected in most 
individuals within 3-4 weeks of viral transmission after suspected

this time to develop to be detected .
If you consider your friend have had high-risk exposure to HIV within the last 
few days, he should discuss  his health care provider/ doctor about
