Hi and thanks for asking us on HCM.
You need to understand that even before ejaculation, sperm can still seep out of the erect penis during unprotected sex.
When taken within 24 hours, the emergency pill has a 95% chance of preventing
pregnancy.
When taken within 48 to 72 hours, it only has a 58% chance of preventing pregnancy.
I am sorry to tell you that it is not known if the
emergency contraceptive pill is effective at all if taken after 72 hours.
The
intrauterine device (IUD) is another way of emergency
contraception. It needs to be inserted within 5 days of unprotected sex.
Feeling dizzy and nauseous may have been brought on by all the
stress you are currently under. While there is a risk of pregnancy, we do not know yet if you really are pregnant.
I know this is going to sound impossible to do, but remain calm and wait for your period. Home pregnancy kits are inaccurate - do not rely on them. Go see your regular doctor and have them do a
blood test for serum beta-
HCG if you are too anxious or if your period is delayed.
Decide on the next step once you know for sure if you are pregnant or not.
I hope this helps you, take care.
