Suggest Tests To Confirm HIV

Hi, I have shown no signs of HIV etc and have been with my wife now for over 8 years and we have 2 kids one aged 4 and the other at 2 year old, about 10 years back I had sex with someone with a condom but gave them oral sex and I shouldnt really of as I was unsure of there history. I have been run down recently due to lack of sleep and work and have developed swollen glands and night sweats but they are clearing up after 3 days, My wife had numerous blood tests when she was pregnant and tested negative for HIV, would that mean i am the same, we have had unprotected sex for over 8 years now?? Thanks

Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
You had protected intercourse 10 years back.
Oral sex carries a very low risk for HIV.
Your wife remains HIV negative after 8 years of married life. (Rarely (30%) spouses remain HIV free in spite of their regular sex with their infected partner for years together)
Swollen glands and night sweating are not specific to HIV.
It seems that you are unlikely to be HIV positive.
Anyhow a simple Rapid test or an ELISA would confirm your HIV status beyond any doubt.
