Suggest Tests To Diagnose "subacute Thyroiditis"

I am a woman, 37 years old. I have autoimmune diseases in my family.
I think I have just now suffered from subacute thyroditis, but my doctor has not diagnosed this. I have been tested for heart, lung, kidney and throat problems. I had rapid heart rate, weakness, tender thyroid, mild fever, muscle pain, irritation when breathing causing dry cough for 7 weeks, swelling of legs and later also upper body. Thyroid blood tests were taken but only several weeks after I first got sick and with no remarks. I am now just getting better. Suddenly my pulse went down, the tenderness at the thyroid disappeared and I am not coughing anymore. My question is, is it possible to now, 7 weeks after I got sick, take any test to see if I did have Subacute Thyroiditis? What test should I ask my doctor to take? I really want to know if i have had subacute thyroiditis.
Thank you.

Endocrinologist 's  Response
Hello,
I read carefully your report.
If you are off symptoms now, the main indicators of subacute thyroiditis should be back in normal ranges.
The last indicator that needs months to turn back to normal is the destruction of the thyroid tissue. It is evaluated by thyroid ultrasound.
So if the ultrasound shows hypo-echoic zones with negative antibodies (antiTPO and antiThyroglobuline) it means that subacute thyroiditis has left some traces.
Hope the information will help,
Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
