Suggest The Best Antibiotic For UTI

I was married for 43 years and in a monogamous relationship until my husband passed away from cancer 2 years ago. In June I began an intimate relationship with a divorced man who had been celibate for 5 years. I have MS, an autoimmune disease. I have been fighting a UTI since June and have been on Macrobid, which did not work. I was the prescribed Ciproflaxin (spelling ?) which appeared to work, but needed to be put back on it 2 weeks later. I now have another infection which I believe is also a UTI. What is the best antibiotic for me to get rid of this? I have not had UTI’s until June of this year.

Hello,

I suggest you do a urine culture to confirm the best antibiotic to treat the infection.

The urine culture finds the bacteria that is causing the infection and the antibiotic to treat it.

In my daily practice, I often recommend Ciprofloxacin to treat the urinary tract infection which is a very effective antibiotic.
