Hi,
Depran-L is a medication that contains two active ingredients:
Clonazepam and Escitalopram. Clonazepam belongs to a class of drugs called benzodiazepines, which are used to treat
anxiety and panic disorders. Escitalopram belongs to a class of drugs called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), which are used to treat
depression and anxiety disorders.
It is not clear why your
psychiatrist prescribed Depran-L for you, as it is not typically used to treat
homosexuality or sexual orientation. It is possible that the medication is being used to treat an underlying anxiety or
mood disorder that may be impacting your ability to have sexual relations with your wife. It is important to note that sexual orientation is not something that can be "cured" by medication or therapy.
Homosexuality is a natural variation of human sexuality and is not considered a disorder or illness by most mental health professionals. If you are struggling with your sexual orientation, it may be helpful to seek out a therapist who is knowledgeable and accepting of LGBTQ+ individuals to help you work through your feelings and develop coping strategies.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
