Suggest The Type Of Specialist For Alzheimer's In Elders
My 80 yr old mother has dementia/Alzheimer's diagnosed by a neurologist. Her primary is an endocrinologist that does not specialize in elder care. She will be going into assisted living next month that specializes in memory care. What type of dr. should she see now. Is there a dr. that specializes in this field?

For the elderly, numerous complaints/problems are always present. She needs to be seen by multiple specialists. Geriatric medicine is one such field, who takes care of most of the patients problems.
If you can find a Geriatric specialist, he will be helpful in solving most of your problems. If not you can find a assisted living setup close to a multi-specialty hospital.
