Suggest Therapy For Epilepsy

I am an epilectic about two months ago I had a seizure first in 8 years two weeks ago I had another. In the last two weeks I have had alot lot of dizzy spells, slurred speech, staggering, don't know if the two are connected or not. Some people I have talked to think I have some kind of blood issue, anemic or diabetic possibly. I went to lucnh today with a friend that is diabetic he mentioned the same thing when we left we went to house because he wanted to test my blood sugar about 20min after it was at 147, 10min later it was at 159, and 10min later back to 142. We had pizza and a coke don't know if that would matter but I was wondering what those numbers might mean because we are hitting alot of dead ends with my neurologist

Hello!

Thank you for your question on HCM!

I would like to explain that your friend has tried to perform a loading glucose test, but this is not the proper technical procedure.

It is usually given a specified amount of sugar and blood glucose is measured before, after an hour and after two hours.

Anyway, your blood glucose values seem be be withing the normal limits for the distance from eating (within the first hour).

I recommend performing an EEG, a routine blood test, blood electrolytes, kidney and liver function tests, inflammation tests, to find the possible cause of your symptomatology.

A brain MRI may be needed, to exclude a possible intracranial cause.

Hope to have been helpful!

Best wishes,

Dr. Aida
