Hallow Dear,
The most important three symptoms you have described : many cysts in the ovaries, irregular menses and obesity are suggestive of
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). You may get it confirmed by getting your blood examined for FSH and LH hormones.
Your treatment would comprise of two main aspects : Medicinal treatment and Lifestyle modifications.
If you aspiring for
pregnancy, you should get some medicines for induction of ovulation.
Clomiphene citrate is usually given to start with. If it fails after fair trial for 6 months, then HMG/HCG combination may be given.
In addition to
irregular menstruation and
infertility, PCOS is characterized by high insulin levels and high male hormone levels.
Metformin is a medicine used to bring insulin levels down. When given with medicines for induction of ovulation, the results are some what better. Another medicine - Myo inositol brings down male hormonal levels along with controlling insulin levels. Its results are claimed to be better than Metformin.
Lifestyle modification is needed to control the weight. Please calculate your BMI. You should maintain it under 24. For this you have to manage your diet and perform exercises.
In diet, eat high protein and low
carbohydrate, low fat diet. Restrict your diet with the help of a dietician to minimum required calories.
Along with exercises in Gym, daily walk for 40 minutes at a stretch with pace of 90 steps per minute twice a day is advocated.
With this broad outline of the treatment you should be able to conquer PCOS. Please report to your Gynaecologist for detailed management.
I hope this helps you.
