Suggest Treatment For COPD, Shortness Of Breath And Panic Attacks
I have copd and I have a combivent puffer that is not helping much. I also have bad allergies ( took a benedryl) I am getting out of breath more often today and last night I could hardly sleep like a panic attack was coming on from coughing til I was dizzy. Very dry cough. When should I consider e.r. treatment??

You have history of COPD and are on Combivent puffer, you are having cough and also breathing problem. You are suggested to get a follow up clinical examination done by a GP, get repeat sputum examination / culture, chest X-ray, CT, blood tests, spirometry, etc., done to detect the pathology causing you symptoms. You will be accordingly treated and managed. Combivent puffer is used to prevent bronchospasm (tightening and narrowing of the airways) in people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
However, it works best when the Combivent puffer is used with other medicines to control the health condition. Stay away from addictions, like alcohol, smoking, drugs, etc., as they may trigger your symptoms and cause harm. Get connected to your treating doctor, you may need oral medications. Your treatment will depend on the pathology causing the symptoms.
