I am a 54 yr, old women who was diagnosed with Cushing s Disease about eight yrs. ago. I was a health and physical ed. teacher. and also the girls softball and basketball coach. I also was a beauty queen. I am 5 ft. 5 inches tall and always weighed between 115-120 lbs. I was given a couple of steroid shots for back pain and after two years of searching anywhere and everywhere to find out what was going on in my body, the doctors where I live and also Mayo Clinic decided I had Cushing s Disease from the steroid shots. I gained 100 lbs. by not eating anything for almost two years. I ate banana popsicles and sprite. I now have diabetes, lupus, high blood pressure and excruciating pain. I take a very low dose of oxycontin for the pain. I really want to know if there is ANYTHING I can do to get back to my former self. My mind is great. I want to play golf, teach tennis, and swimming lessons like I used too. I am not getting better, I am only getting worse. Thank you for listening!
