Suggest Treatment For Downs Syndrome

Sir, I have 7 ysr. old daughter who is downs, i am worried about her. she is also suffering from thyroid. Down Syndrome is a curable?
Secondly, we are planning for second baby but i am worried, what is the risk factor for second baby. Now, I am 42 yrs. old

No, Doown's syndrome is not curable because it is a genetic condition. You can supplement her with thyroxine for her thyroid problem. With special education she may be able to attend school. The risk of the second baby is more if there is translocation of chromosomes as reason for Down's syndrome of your first child. But Down's syndrome can be detected antenatally. get the nuchal translucency test in ultrasonogram at 11-14 weeks along with the triple test.(blood test)
