Suggest Treatment For IBS

Hi. I have been noticing slight itching and pricking in the anus from the past 2 months and ignored it. But today the itching and pricking is terrible and unbearable (not going away) I can feel it and it is very uncomfortable. I have IBS and have been nauseous aswell.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood your concerns.
Since you are a known case of IBS I hope all your relevant investigations of blood, stool, urine, Colonoscopy and CT scan of the abdomen were normal as these to be necessarily normal for one to say that he is suffering from IBS.
Control of stress and anxiety is the mainstay of management of IBS.
If such investigations have not been done, please request your Doctor to get these done as you have problem of Itching in the anal area and pricking too.
If any specific diagnosis like an intestinal infection or colitis is done a proper course of an antibiotic, metronidazole and probiotics should help you.
Also take medicines for the intestinal worm infestation.
Take sitz bath and keep the area clean and dry.
Get examined by a General Surgeon for local as well as per-rectal digital examination.
