i am a 21 year old male...just before 3 years i felt some unsteadiness while walking..slowly my right leg started lagging..i consulted a neurologist.after taking MRI doctor said that it is Syringohydromyelia and said to review after 3 months.symptoms increased gradually.after a lot of reviews after one year doctors suggested MRI scan again.after that they told the fluid in the spinal cord is not increasing.so no need of surgery.symptoms will stop.but now one more year has gone.symptoms are increasing slowly.now i have problems with my left leg also.now i can t able to walk steadily.what can i do? will these symptoms increase again without the increase in syrinx?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

The fact that your situation is worsening, means that the fluid may be increasing. For this reason, I recommend performing a new MRI in order to examine your spinal cord. Surgery may be needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
