Hi Doctor, I have UTI Since Monday, and I went to quick care and the give me antibiotics- ״ciprofloxacin I took the pills for two days, On the third day I saw no change but I took one of the pills and went again to quick care, they change the antibiotic to Nitrofurantoin , I took this pills 4 day and nothing happened.. And I feel so bad and I don t know what to do. Please help me
hello welcome to hcm well i must say that your doctor is not treating you in a proper manner, there is no point in giving and changing antibiotics blindly on hit and trial basis,it will do more harm than benefit and can make the causative bacteria to be drug resistant..the proper way to treat and cure urinary tract infections is to get the following tests first and foremost--
report of urine culture and senstivity will reveal that which particular bacteria is causing infection in your case and to which antibiotics that causative bacteria is most sensitive to..based on this the appropriate antibiotic should be started and continued for a specific period of time..so i would advice you to consult about these tests which i have mentioned above and get the appropriate antibiotics and other drugs accordingly.. hope this information helps take care hcm
