Suggest Treatment For UTI

I just finished an antibiotic for a UTI on Monday and then had unprotected sex on Wednesday. I also missed my birth control on Wednesday and Thursday as we were out of town and I forgot it at home. I am currently on my second week in my cycle for birth control. Do I need to take a plan b pill?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

* The UTI management requires

- plenty of liquids
- urinary alkaliser as cranberry sachet or syrup cystone after prescription
- urine culture for further antibiotic support.

* So far as I pill is concerned, it is not recommended to consume after 72 hours of unprotected sex.
